I’m really loving this set from Keith Axline over at Wired’s Raw File. Brilliant. He catalogues Beijing’s budding rock underground through pictures and interview, showing the musicians through both work and play. Be sure to check out the original article for the full interview as well as some sample tracks from the bands.

While the one object, 365 days idea might not be new, I really like this set from Flickr. Homer’s goofy face is something that most definitely needs to see the light of day, everyday. See the entire set here.

From photographer Edward Burtynsky comes these shots of a tire graveyard in Westley, California. There’s an odd…mesmerizing quality to them. More photos after the jump.

Subway scraps. SO cool. I really want some for the apartment. I’m not totally sure what I’d do with them, but who cares. Besides vintage subway car doors, the MTA is offering maps, controllers, side roll signs, terminal signs, tokens, globes, horns, poles, seats…basically everything short of the track.
The bits range from $25 (poles) to $500 (full subway seat…doesn’t include the cleaning that you should no doubt do). And, if that’s not good enough, everything comes with a certificate of authenticity. Neat. See the entire inventory over at the MTA website.
