So I was walking through a grocer today when I wandered into the cold commodity section and really took a look at the copious varieties of H2O on the market. I’m not really in favor of mass produced bottled water (mainly due to the plastics involved for an expensive sub for tap), but I definitely appreciate a fine artisan aqua, comparing the sourcing, minerals, and bottling procedures which all generate pretty unique tastes to the stereotypical ‘tasteless’ beverage. I almost considered myself a connoisseur of sorts…then I found these guys.
Of course, the internet has banded together the most professional pallets to judge international bottled water on some pretty strict criteria. Balance, virginality, minerality, orientation, hardness, and ‘vintage’ are just a few of the categories these guys consider–and for Christ’s sake don’t put ice in your water unless it’s been sourced at the site, lest you taint your sample! In any case, I’m bookmarking this page: it’s probably the most comprehensive analysis of fine waters on the net.
